You do not have to open a bank account before arriving.
Opening an account while in Canada does not take long.

If you use the search function here, you will find that there are lots of different opinions.

my consultants said it would be good if i open bank account from here , they say its free of cost to open bank account and that too with zero account balance. I was wondering that will it be of any benefit since i heard that money can be wired to bank from here instead of having the fuss to carry it along apart form the ease of opening it from here rather than going to bank in canada and filling those forms and spending time ..

the consultants have tie up with  bank of nova scotia.

You cant open a local bank account here unless you go to the branch and show your identity proof say you passport (for international students).

Opening an account takes 5 min at any bank and for example Scotia bank has a student banking which has fee os $2.5 a month for unlimited debit transactions (when you use your debit card to make purchases) and there is no minimum balance I opened for 0$.

Let me know if you have any questions
