opening applications and processing time

Hi, I'm a bit confused.  My application processing time is 37 days working on applications received 25th January.  Does the 37 days start from the date my application is received or from the date they start opening it (which could be close to a month away by all accounts).

I assume you mean Mississauga. It's from the date it's received, and counts mailing time for the decision letter to get to the sponsor.

Excellent!  Thanks Rinnerz and Baloo..yes it went to Mississauga.   For some reason I was under the impression it was roughly 37 days after opening so this bit of info just brightened my day

They have sponsorship decisions made within 37 days of when the package was received.  They've *started* working on packages received on 25 January.

Some of those cases will be finalised quickly (i.e. the day they're opened), others won't.

As this update was from Feb 23, 29 days after 25 Jan, it means they're finalising sponsorship applications within about 8 days of when they open the package.

Now, if only it was possible for the foreign VO's to do it as quickly...
