Dear Sir/Ma'am,

I am on a work permit(Expires in May 2009) and my wife has got open work permit. Could you please confirm the below

1. Whether she can opt for a permanent job(Full time)
2. Does she need to do anything(I mean any Formalities, as she is not bound to any company right now) before she can start applying for the job or after she gets the job.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is a difference between Full Time and Permanent Job.

If she has work permit she will need SIN NO. Which she can apply/get from any Service Canada Centre. It will just take few minutes, but legally you are supposed to provide your SIN no within 3 days to your employers (Many will need it in advance)

Thanks alot for your prompt response, really appreciate your help

so I can presume that my wife can opt for fulltime as she has got the SIN number already. Also could you please comment on the second question i.e about the formalities that need to be done before she can apply for a job.

Hi Ravi,

We had mentioned that you had applied for open work permit for your wife.
I have one question, to apply for open work permit do we have to submit the offer letter from employer.

Thanks in advance.
