Hi puja,
yeah, yr money let's say, will be frozen untill u go to Canada and activate yr acct personally, that will insure VO that u won't withdraw your money duing the process. everyone does that, so don't be scared of that at all.

Yeah
the money is safe but it 's something to do when you know for sure you are about to move. There is no point leaving the cash tied into an acct in Canada if you are going to spend 6 or 9 months before u go.

That should be fine... as long as it's in 'your' name.

Opened an account with Scotiabank and RBC, both are very good banks. With RBC we got an unlimited charge-free debit transactions plus we were able to open a US-based account. This is very useful if you travel a lot to the US or have plans of moving to the US someday.

I was trying to contact Scotia bank in Dubai and look for Tejal but to no avail. There is a lady answering and she is saying this a bank from India.
