I was told by detroit Embassy... to contact unless its really an emergency issue.. I suggest you should contact the Detroit office. Detroit used to be fast, my file transfered the same day as yours however I got my passport request on Jan 21st. Have you got any documents requests?

Did they ask you for any additional documents during this period ? This is worrying because mine is transferred recently.
yes...initially they asked the copies and later the originals...

Hope you are interested in landing Toronto and nothing wrong in doing so, but as per previous posts, there is a suggestion that you should first go to Alberta and then take your Health card, SIN and give PR address, then move to Toronto where you will be having your Health coverage also. I guess that would be your best bet! Guys quick question: 1. I am planning to complete my landing formality by road via buffalo. If I rent a car do I need to get some kind of insurance proof or anthing particular for canadian customs and border protection.
2. Also I was thinking may be staying for few days so is it possible if I can apply for Helath card in toronto itself.... any thoughts

Processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete.
Please submit the Right of Permanent Residence fee(s) and your passport(s) before June 7, 2011. The issuance of your visa(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as requested.

Two good news to share with you guys
1) I received my passport back from LA consulate on 31st March 2011 with visa stamped. LA consulate took almost 2 months to return passport. I'm so happy that no words to have express feelings. Visa has been granted till end of June.
fyi: LA has option to do stamping in person. Please go in person stamping if circumstances are with you.
2) On 4th April, We've baby girl born.
NEED ADVISE OR SUGGESTION:
Till PR visa has been issued, I've not told Buffalo / LA consulate regarding my wife pregnancy. Now I've baby born and visa received with CORP. In CORP, they have mentioned that if any case family composition has been changed, you must inform us before leaving for canada. I was under impression that baby will have US citizenship so she will not have any issue.
In that matter, What should I do? and what will be the outcomes? Please advise seniors ASAP. Someone in this forum have as same case as I've? Visa has been granted till end of JUNE.
Thanks,
|

Congratulations! I do not have good news to give you; I will state what I know, You should have informed them about the baby, since you knew that you will have the baby before you land. If you were able to land before you had the baby, then, there would have been no trouble. The baby will be a visitor. The document which I received says that, you will have to reapply, if you are unable to land before a dependent is born. Let LA know about this and ask them what to do.

Hi,
I landed in Calgary on 6th April. All they asked me if I was completing my landing and address to send the PR cards. There was a warm welcome after signing the COPR and then went ahead to customs to submit the goods to follow list. Next day I got my SIN application done, it was simple and they gave me the SIN number on the spot with the card to follow at the given address. Following days I applied for RBC account and Health Cards.
Now I am back in the US with AVR. There was no issue with AVR, no questions asked.
I am planning to go back to Calgary in a month or two for good.
Let me tell you friends, there are great people on the forum and I have met some of them in Calgary in person. Amazing personalities and great attitude. They went out of the way to help me other than just providing me with the Calary address. I cant imagine how I could manage without their help.
I am so thankful to this forum and the people that I met here through this journey of becomming a Landed Canadian Permanant Resident.
Good luck to all those who are waiting, though the tunnel looks dark, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
Best Wishes to all.
L.B

Hi Sinbad, I agree with you. Here I got when PPR was requested. "NOTE: If you are expecting a child and are able to land in Canada before the child is born, you should do so. Failure to land before additional dependants are born will result in the need for a new application and new fees for all family members."I'm sure that I would not land prior to baby born as per my wife medical condition and I don't want to loose this opportunity. However, Let's say If I inform them now, Would it be chance to reject my PR visa? Thanks, Congratulations!
