After 838 DAYS of total process time for AINP,  i recieved my passport with visa and COPR  from LA on 3/25/11

LA Consulate took almost 7 week to issue me a visa.

Date of expiry on visa is 1 year from the Medicals .

i am planning a visit in June 2011,

i am from Houston and planning to come back after landing formalities , now the question is should i go to Alberta or Onterio . Seniors and other memebers please suggest. i would definately prefer ontario but if it is a NO NO then Alberta is the only choice.

Also I will have to use AVR , Is it still good Huh

Congratulation // wish you all the best..

So it is between you and JP Morgan...dont spread your frustration here.

By doing this, you are just exposing yourself more and more. Everyone is understanding, who you are and what your words mean.

For JP Morgan I may not be the high profiled because they got almost whole Columbia and Wharton batch of 1995. This is the truth. I am sitting right now among all consultant or contractor type IT folks so it may seem high profile which is because these folks are scared to even talk about 200,000 job. Top Banks go exactly by the law and Labor certification requires to ensure that no US Citizen is truly available for job so that petitioner can file I-140 but JP morgan can't say when they have Georgia white boy with US birth Certificate so why they would lie to USCIS?? Only reddy can file labor by advertising job position at toilet wall and ignore all American resumes to file H1B's I-140. These top banks don't do those reddy type labor and I-140 filing. That's why nothing is wrong with me. It is all matter of experience.

ag_tou,

Where were you when the dooms day prophet was sending all to hell... Thanks for the encouraging words. I wish more like share their experience more often. You have given some important ideas like .ca email, phone etc....

Again thanks.

Hi Guys,

I am very busy these days and can't spend time in replying back for some unecessary and unwanted comments, which some people are making here.

But I couldn't resist anymore, when I see some people like WASHINGTON.STATE, spreading rumors and unproved statements, which scare others and create stress around people, who are hopeful of starting a good life in Canada.

Let me give some inputs from my side:

- I got nomination in May last year and within 10-15 days got the job from US itself. (with a 20% increment)
- Moved to Calgary in August 2010.
- I took 1-2 month in job settling and adjusting my kid in the day care.
- Almost October mid, my spouse started looking for job and got the job in just one week.
- I am continuing in my engineering profile and she is in Management. Her first job gave her a good break and a decent starting salary.
- After working for 5 months and gaining some local experience, she started looking for a more better job and with her hard work, friends, and networking, she got the job in hardly less then a month...and doubled up her salary as well as got a very good position too.
- in just last 6-7 months, we have doubled up our annual household income.
- Both are working with very good companies and satisfied with our move.

Not just me, I have seen at least 4-5 families moving to Alberta through AINP and they got jobs or came with job from US.....Its your hard work and efforts, which pay.

I, chalocanada, cchabert, kisha, jxjy .....all are enjoying our move...and we are going to have Ell.Bee joining us soon.

So guys, don't spend time in focusing on these stupid rumors......rather foucs on your job search, udate your resume as per Canadian needs, grow your network (use Linkedin....make sure you have your city in your profile as Calgary, add to groups like Linking Calgary and Calgary Technology Network, Calgary Business Analysts etc), combine the job search tool with Linkedin and apply.

ohhcanada,

Thanks for the appreciation. I am glad my experience and words helped encouraging you.
Focus on your path and don't worry about comments from a stupid fellow, who as most of us already found is either fake or has some serious mental issue.

That was only until Summer 2008. Before that anything goes. So long you played golf with those guys, socialized etc... they were all good with you. Only after the financial collapse of the system that they said no to H1-b and GCs.

Anyway it is time for seniors (Yes making in the range of ~70000  - ~150000) to share more of their positive experiences in Canada, no offense intended for those who are used to making a lot more. I certainly hope to make equally more, but that may take a little longer.

 Smiley

yes you are wrong. Financial services industry has been in trouble and filing H1 and GC was like a crime for them. explore and you will discover.

I thought you had some good points even if they came with some very strong opinion and I thank you for at least the good points; but seriously you are too much for me. No offense intended but I have decided not to reply to your posts anymore.  Lips sealed

you are wrong. It was not untill 2010. TARP was not the only issue there were lots of issues. but I don't think those seniors are actually making. This is all lie. those dishwashers are faking everything and because they all are Mcdaddy or reddy pimps so they will have no issues to lie. They were fake in USA and they are fake in Canada.

Hi,

Adding more information that ag_tou has shared, you can buy a magic jack here in the US itself and register for a Canadian number. Once you register the magic jack, you can go online and forward the calls to your US cellphone. You will receive all your calls in the US while the caller thinks he is calling a Canadian number.

There difference between Magic Jack vs Net Talk Duo is the Magic Jack needs a computer running all the time, where as the Net Talk does not need a computer, it can directly connect to the router.

Netalk purchased in the US cannot register a Canadian number, but if you buy it from Amazon.ca  you can register a Canadian number.

Magic Jack has no restriction for selecting the number, but you need to pay $10 per year extra for a Canadian number.

Thanks,
L.B

Does anyone know about Google voice works in Canada? I mean that it can give you a Canadian number, i.e, Fully Canadian Google voice?
