Ingegarcia, kgh, findude, AlbertaCitizen, yrinaldy and everybody else..............Thanks, I will keep you posted abt how long it takes them to stamp the visa on my passport.........I am planning to get my landing done in Windsor, ON although that will be nowhere  near Alberta but at least will get my meter started towards the three year time frame for a Canadian passport. I plan to visit or try my luck in Alberta somewhere around the winters.....My office has branches in Edmonton and Calgary.

Rocking vibes,
Did you already pay your RPRF?

Thank you very much for the info Rocking vibes.

Nope, I will be sending it along with my passport.

I am the freshest employee with just 1+ year of work experience with them so I might be next if they follow LIFO. The good part is that they will at least give me 2 months notice period and we have an office in Edmonton and Calgary.

Congratulations RV,
If you are the freshest, you probably don't have anything to worry. Lay-off is one area where they religiously follow FIFO. Salary for an old timer can pay for 1.5 - 2.5 fresh employees! I'd be damned if our Materials group ever followed FIFO like this.

I am screwed either ways....I am already in the top 10% in regards to pay, I made sure I negotiated a good deal when they hired me Full time after 3 years of contracting.

Rocking,....

u really Rockkk ! congrats dude ... great news ... keep us posted and good luck with ur settling ...

HELLO ALL,

I GOT A QUERY FOR :

# A copy of any document(s) from current U.S. employer demonstrating current job title, the main duties of the job, and the education and work experience necessary to do the job.  The document(s) must be one or more of the following: job offer letter(s), employment contract(s), reference letter(s), and/or requests/petitions to USCIS for your U.S. visa. The document(s) must be on company letterhead.

   1. We may already have a copy of the offer letter and work reference letters; however, we require a document which lists the current job title and the main duties (a brief but detailed job description). We find the petition letter the employer used to supplement the H1B application, provides us with the most detailed description of the job and qualifications – you can email us a scanned copy of the USCIS petition letter job description which the US employer used to supplement the H1B application

I had changed the address. My file number is 115X.The original h1b says that my job title is programmer analyst.

I filed under 2171.what shall i do HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

Also my preassessment is approved as IT cosultant as at that time I had provided them letter from client that I work as IT consultant.

I have 2 options either I provide the letter from current client and take it as IT cosultant OR
I can give the original one with programmer analyst, but it might contradict me as IT consultant which is approved during preassessment.

as u know most H1b folks work as IT consultant. You may send a copy of the USCIS petition, which should be enough for them.
good luck

What's the size of the photo you guys use for the medical?

The medical form says we need passport size photo and I found out that Canadian passport photo (50mm x 70mm) is different in size than the CIC application photo (35mm x 45 mm). I have some extra photos from the CIC application stage and not sure if I can use them.

Any last minute advice will be greatly appreciated as we have our medicals tomorrow morning.
