thank you Rao, So shall i remove my parents names from that 2nd page.

My Nomination expires on July 26th, can i send with out my wife DOB.my wife is in India, from where should she get the dob certificate.

Please help

Hi,

It is difficult process of obtaining a birth certificate from India. I got them done from the Indian Embassy in US.

I would submit the application before the expiry of nomination to avoid complications.

And regarding your parents, they should be included in the IMM5406E - Additional Family Information; and NOT ont the IMM 008 page 2

Thanks,

I need an advise on landing and using AVR. I know couple of senior members did their landing and came back on AVR. My situation is my 6 years of H1b expired and I got an extension of 3 more years based on approved I-140 (didn't yet filed 485). If I use AVR while coming back to US would there be a question asked as to why I am planning to hold double PR as a I already have canadian PR and still waiting for US PR based on 140.

Appreciate your response.

Thanks

Hi,

I am in the same situation as you. I-140 approved and 485 pending. If you have not filed for 485 (adjustment of status), you are currently on work permit and not in the process adjusting your status to a permanant resident. Considering this, you will be entering the US on H1B and there is nothing that mentions what term of H1 you are on. IMO it should not matter and the AVR should work the same as like it did for others.

Thanks,

L.B

Did any body who did medicals a month ago got his/her Passport request recently? I did my medicals on June 11, medical reached Ottawa on June 17, and RPRF check was cashed on June 17. As of now I haven't heard anything back from CIC.
Folks who have similar time lines Please throw some predictions: when will we get our Passport request??

I completed my landing formalities on May 26th at Port Huron. Its over 45 days and The PR card had not been received by my friend at Calgary. The SIN card came in 10 days.
I am currently in the US. What are my options?

Hi,
I am new on this forum. I have question about my case. I got AINP Nomination on November 2009 and I applied CIC with all the necessary documents on March 12 2010 but it returned to me because I made mistake on my husband's personal histry part. I fixed it and reaply . It reached to CIC ooffice in Buffalo on March 30,2010. Since that I have n't heard anything or got any thing from CIC. Now I am little worried since it has been almost 4 month. Has anyone gone through my situation? What is your advise ?

If you got the MO from Bank you are holding, you can request them for the MO receipt.

Landing experience:

Background: Came to USA on student visa and never got H1b stamping in the passport.

Flew to Calgary by American airlines on July 1 and the attendant at the boarding gate took the I-94 form while boarding.
Landed in calgary and was directed to the immigration officer after standing in the queue. I gave Bank statement, passport, COPR and Calgary address to officer. He was polite and asked how was I doing with job search. I signed the COPR document and he stapled a copy of it to the passport, told that it is a important document and to hold on to it till I get citizenship.

Then I was directed to customs. I gave Goods to follow list to the officer, he made a copy of it, signed and stanped it and gave a copy to me.He didn't check my luggage(a laptop bag and a medium sized carry bag). All this was over in 20-30 minutes.

The hotel that I booked didn't have shuttle service to the airport. In addition, July 1 was holiday(canada day) and there was no Bus Tours operators(not public bus). Car rental was expensive($77/day) because of Stampede festivities in calgary between July 1 - 19. Finally, had to take a cab and the price was crazy expensive. Cab charged me $55 for 10 minute ride(< 10 miles) to the hotel.  Car rental from http://www.discountcar.com/English/ was the cheapest at $44/day and had reservation for the next day.

Next day with the car got SIN. With SIN, opened bank account(http://www.pcfinancial.ca/). PC Financial had free checking account with no minimum balance and other rip offs. It was also conveniently located in super store( Real Canadaian Super store) where I got some freshly baked english muffins(buns - very good), juice etc. Food is bit expensive compared to USA. Cab fares are outrageous. The city is small, probably 10 miles end to end.

The following day went to the calgary airport and then through US Immigration/customs. The officer asked me the following questions.
1. Why didn't I get stamping while in calgary?
Answer: Was here for only 3 days and planning on going to native country for a longer vacation in couple of months and plan to get stamping there.
2. Purpose of visit to Canada?
Landing to become PR
3. How did canada give me PR while in USA?
Answer: Based on my education and experience

People in calgary were very friendly and helpful. Standard of living bit lower than medium sized cities in USA. Demographics - white (approx. 75%), rest minorities See http://liveincalgary.com/overview/calgary-facts/demographics/ethnic-diversity. Weather was temparate but cloudy with intermittent rain.
