Hi
I just recieved the initial assessment letter. It asks for Police clearance documents and Right of permanent residence fee(RPRF) $415 per adult.
I did mail the Police certificates a few days back along with the medical reciept.

What does this mean. I mean asking for RPRF? is that always the process?

Also  I will mention I have mailed the PCC documents last week via email. Would that be fine?

Thanks
james

Yes James these kind of things happen. By the time the Visa Officer would have checked your file, he would not have found the PCCs in it, which is why they have asked for PCCs. You would have with you the records of the PCC sent to the CIC earlier, so you can send a copy of that along with your RPRF mentioning everything in a detailed letter duly signed by you. This will serve the purpose in my opinion. They will take note of it without acknowledging receipt of that letter though. Send them email as well signed hard copy letter. Hope this helps!

Thanks S...

my other question about RPRF..
What does initial assement mean in terms of milestones in the application process.
and what does paying RPRF mean? Is it normal to ask for it at initial assesment?
Thanks

Yes James IA is one of the crossing step in the PR Process. After IA its normally the PPR (Passport Request)...some consulates send the IA and some dont as it depends on the content of the file when the visa officer sees it. RPRF means that they are positive about your case and want you to submit all the fees. Some people send both the Applicant fee as well as RPRF fee proactively right in the beginning of the application filing and some just send the applicant fee. Its perfectly ok to ask for RPRF fee at Initial Assessment stage as at this stage the CIC is expecting to finalize the application without a personal interview. Within 90 days you should be able to see some decision on your case. So far we have seen that NY Consulate is a good one and LA is one of the not good ones Smiley

cchabert,
How long did CIC take to request you for medicals after your file submission?
Also did you receive your AOR and medical request at the same time?
thanks

Mine said valid for six months, and I didn't ask why not for a year, I just sent the papers to CIC ASAP

It was a long history but it takes around a month and I got the AOR and Medicals request at the same time.
