All,
Please answer my question.
Is is legal and authorized to apply for visit visa for Canada while I am done with my Medical a month ago and waiting for PPR. The way PPR requests are coming in , looks like based upon previous history it normally takes any where b/w 6 to 8 months after Med is done, provided all requirements met.
I want to stamp my H1B Ext from Canada and don't want to land and than appear for an interview for H1B ext on the same time.
Regards,
Qureshi

Thank you AG. Take a pen and write the date yourself. You dont have to have it printed. All they want is a selfbacking paper that does not smudge the ink.

Today I checked my status and it says file was transfered to LA. How long does it take after file transfer is done to LA for getting PPR.

Hello Qureshi, Yes, you can apply for visitor visa to Canada while your application for Permanent Residence is pending. Infact I applied and got mulitple entry Canadian Visitor Visa at New York consulate while I was waiting for my Passport Request. Hope this helps All,

NRCANADA, I am not sure if you should inform CIC/ Alberta about your change in address after getting the PR visa BUT if I were you I wouldn't. I don't think it really matter since your PR is already issued. BUT If you foresee any circumstances that you might see the need to communicate with CIC/ Alberta before you land, then its better to keep them informed. Hope this helps. Hello,

Hi, If you sent pre-paid USPS Express mail envelop along with your passports, you should get the passports the next morning they post it. In order to check if they posted it, check USPS tracking #. If you haven't sent pre-paid envelop, then the consulate sends the passports by first class mail, then it will take a good one week time. Thanks Hello All...

try using http://www.epassportphoto.com/ . thats what everyone and i have used. Just take your photo with white backround with digital camera. upload your photo to your computer. then use this website to create/save your passport size photos on 4X6 sheet. Order online prints at Walmart or anyother store. You are done

Thanks Avalap and Manny for the replies. It would make sense to just wait for the PR card. There would be no urgency to travel within the next two months. The sooner I receive the PR cards, the earlier I can start the process of moving to Calgary. Cannot quit the current job unless I am sure that entry to Canada would be smooth. Ask your Edmonton friend to send you the PR cards when he receives them. If you are not planning to return to Canada within 2 months, you can wait for PRs to reach you and then travel. If you however need to travel before you receive PR cards, then road is the only way to enter without applying for visit visa. I suggest you wait for the PR cards.
