Hi,
I came to canada as an international student and was given my post graduate work permit for 3 years after graduation which will be expiring in July 2011. I will be applying for my PR in a month or so however, while it is being processed I want to have a work permit. I will be applying for a regular work permit. I just got a positive LMO through my employer to apply for the new work permit.
Can I apply online for the new regular work permit? It seems that it is only possible to apply online if you have a regular work permit and and not applicable if you have a post graduate work permit? Can someone please advice! I want to get it as soon as possible and online takes less time to get than paper application within canada. I am also afraid that online application does not ask for as many documents as paper application so I am afraid they will need more information :S and be delayed or denied.
Also, is it possible for me , being from costa rica, to drive to Buffalo and get a work permit there?
I am also wondering, if i send the paper application from inside canada and three weeks later for the permanent residence, will the work permit application be delayed?
Thank you!!! !!!!!
Yes, you can apply online. You have the ability to upload documents and you can create them to contain what you want (as long as they aren't bigger than 2 MB). Or you can apply for the WP at the border. You don't have to drive to Buffalo, just a port of entry. The PR application won't delay the WP application.
