Online payment!!

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to receive the payment receipt if payment done with credit card.. and if payment done with money order/draft?
 
Situation is Sponsor person saying that she mailed the file in March 2011 and get payment receipt in September 2011. The Date of payment shows on the receipt is Aug '10 2011. She claimed before that she did the payment via money order and on payment receipt there is a one field CARD NUMBER with 23######9990.

I am really confused here. One person told me that If you make payment online then you get receipt instantly and if you make payment via money order then you will get the receipt within 2 weeks. He also told me that according to Payment date which is on receipt the file must put by sponsor around July'20 2011 not in March 2011.

Can help me to make myself clear that who is wrong and who is right?

Not too sure about money order. But I can confirm that if you pay online via Credit Card you do get a receipt immediately. They also email a copy to you immediately as well.

I am having a situation here. Sponser person says she put the file in March 2011 without payment. In August 2011 she received the letter from Immigration office which said that Application package missing fees. So, She paid the fees Online with credit card and sent that receipt after filling necessary information.

Now my question is does canadian immigration office keep that file for almost 5 months who does not have payment??? Why canadian immigration office ask for payment after 5 months?? why not after 1 or 2 months? What took them so long to ask for payment??

I asked one person who knows something about Immigration process. He told me that If you put the file without fees or must having checklist documents your file will return to your home within few days. Canadian Immigration office does not having space for your file to save it for 5 months.

I asked sponser that what she did with that receipt? She told me that she filled information and mailed it to canadian immigration office, Mississauga.

If someone make this clear I will appreciate. I feel like she betrayed me.
