Yay I got my WP extension Smiley Special thanks to Job_seeker for all the infos you had gave me. Thumbs up to you. My WP extension signed December 30, 2010; that means CIC-Veg processed my application within their timeline which is 47-days processing - same employer, since I applied last Nov. 13, 2010 thru online.

Glory be to God.

Hi Honeysweetie, congrats to you!

we applied also thru online for our wp extension (on Nov 27th). WP will expire on Jan 12, 2011, and we haven't heard anything yet.

How did you get the notice about your extension, by mail or email or did you just get the new wp by mail?

Thanks for a quick reply  Wink

They won't contact you that your application is in process; but in my case they did email me thru MY CIC page last 12/29/2010 requesting me to upload/provide a Job Offer Letter that I missed to upload/include.[/font]

How did you get the notice about your extension, by mail or email or did you just get the new wp by mail? I received it thru mail.

Thanks for a quick reply  Wink Sorry for the delayed response I just got home from a ski tour with the kids I'm looking after with.

Thanks Honeysweetie.

I called them today and they told me they are processing currently applications from Nov 13th. And the 47 days they post on their website does not mean calendar days, they count in business days, so we probably have to wait another 3 weeks. Hope we have it soon.

For how long did you get your extension?

If I were to compute from submitting my application online transmitted last Nov.14, 2010 to the date they signed my WP extension was Dec.30, 2010 is exactly 47 calendar days - not a business days. The date stamped in the envelope from CPC-Veg which I received last January 7, 2011 is December 31, 2010.

Hopefully yours will arrive in 2 weeks. Good luck ghostsapphire!

Hi

I applied for my PG work permit online thru the CIC and did not send them any hard copies. Just upload them on the site. The date mentioned there is by when you need to upload the required documentation.

The whole process to receive the permit takes 3 months so happy waiting...

When I was tracking my application, one Rep actually told me that paper application is processed faster...can you believe it.

Anyways I got my PG work permit after 3 months and now am going crazy trying to find out a way to extend it...what a bummer...

Hi everyone,
I applied for a TWP extension online on the 3rd of dec. Last week i got a letter from CIC saying that the process will take up to 16 weeks and i should not call them until the after the 16 weeks. My work permit expired on 1st of Feb and am on implied status. Has anyone experieced this? i have sent all the documents they asked for.  I am wondering what this means coz 16 weeks is a long time. i would appreciate your replies.
Thanks

Hi nomadron sad to say no progress yet on my WP extension online application hopefully got the result end of this month. I will keep you posted on this thread. But I did phoned the CIC online reps thrice and they have thesame answers that no need to send the hardcopies not unless you receive an email/letter asking you to do so.

Good luck to all of us.

I applied for work permit extension using CIC online system. Today I receivedrefusal letter that I did not provide LMO.

I am working as software developer and employer is locatted in Quebec. As per cic website IT professionals are not required to get lmo.

My work permit is expiring in 15 days what should I do

Gentlemen,

I have filled up all the info in the online application and uploaded all the required documents,it is ready for submission. But when I tried to view the upload document the files did not open and popped up error

"Internet Explorer cannot download downloadDocument from eserviceak.cic.gc.ca

Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try later"

Please confirm if you could view the documents before submission.Once I get this info,I will submit the form.

I am confused on one more question in the form which asks if my immigration medical has been done.Is this the PR application medical check or the medical check performed at the time of my first work permit application. My PR application is in initial stages and have not done the immigration medical but medical checks were done for the first time I applied for work permit and i have a stamp from commision of canada in my passport for medical screening. Please help what should I do for this question?

Thanks and appreciate your help.
