I have completed a year after my medical. I attended medical on Feb 17th 2009.
There is no passport request from Canadian High Commission London till date. I had reminded them once recently and the standard reply says that my fine is under routine background check. I am under arranged employment and the employer is nice to assure me that he can wait for another 6 months. Is there anyone in this forum in similar situation? Does CHC extend medical validity or do I have to appear for another medical examination? I will appreciate your views.

20 days later , it is one year passed from our medicals , no news , and nothing. I am waiting and I hope we will receive our PPR during this week !!!

i'm under a similar situation, first time that i did the medicals exams was back in january 8th 2009, and i just got a  second request to re do the  medicals which they were done on june 24th 2010, i also got AOE....Good luck

 i think what ever the case may be medicals is valid for only one year you must go for re-medicals,

Background check is an excuse for their created backlog. Though they are promised to process within a year or less time, they are taking unusually excess time. I have applied same on 04.06.09 still waiting without any info. They put their effort to solve the ready cash of 38&29 occupations. Others are according to their economic priority. Pls can u mention ur timeline.

not necessarily  background checks can sometime take more than a year with people having certain bg and nationalities. I am alao victim og prevailing bg checks. Completed meds in Aug 09 and still waiting for ppr. So meep ur fingers crossed nd pray tht at the end we all get through
