Hello,

i want my wife to come to canada in January next year so we can apply for pr status for her. She visited canada this summer and flew back to indonesia on september 1st to take care of some things before she came back here. Is it best to buy a one way ticket  seeing as she will stay here and wait for her pr to be processed or will a round trip ticket be better? she would come here as a tourist again but it seems like a lot of dough for something we might not use. Anyone else have a similar situation? Thx

As a tourist, it's better to buy round trip ticket.  Otherwise, the border officer might refuse her entry and she need to return to where she came from.  Does she has a valid visa for coming back?

thanks for your response,

no we haven't applied for a visa yet because they are only good for 3 months from issue date so we will wait until early november to apply. would the embassy decline us if we hadn't bought a ticket yet when we appliied? I heard of people getting refused because of that.
