Your Value

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!

Kan amen,

Again, you did it.....a tear escaped my eyes, when I read your post.....the emotional fool that I am..... but did not shy away from acknowledging it.....the reality.

Thanks for boosting up my spirits.....infinite +1 for you (after the waiting period  Sad)

A poem by © Shiv Sharma in honor of Sister

The Value Of A Sister

A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.

A friend who helps you through difficult times,
Her comforting words are worth much more than dimes.
A partner who fills your life with laughs and smile,
These memories last for miles and miles.

When she is by your side, the world is filled with life,
When she is not around, your days are full of strife.
A sister is a blessing, who fills your heart with love,
She flies with you in life with the beauty of a dove.

A companion to whom you can express your feelings,
She doesn't let you get bored at family dealings.
Whether you are having your ups or downs,
She always helps you with a smile and never frowns.

With a sister you cannot have a grudge,
She is as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister is not just a trend,
It is knowing you can always turn to her, your best friend.

A mayonnaise jar and two cups of coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the two cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items on a table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full, and they agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “yes.”
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the grains of sand.
The students laughed.“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things: your God, family, children, health, friends and favorite passions– things, that if everything else was lost and only they remained, would allow your life to still be full.
“The pebbles are the other things that matter, like your job, house and car. And the sand is everything else – the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you,” he added.
“Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand,” he said.  One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled and said, “I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

SOme thoughts for us all!

Stress

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience,
raised a glass of water and asked, 'How heavy is this  glass of water?'

Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour,
I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it
becomes.'

He continued,
'And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
the burden will become increasingly heavy: and we won't be able to carry on.'
'As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest
before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the
burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of  work down:
don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
let them down for a moment if you can.'

So, my friend, Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now.
Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while.

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

*  Just accept that, some days, you're the pigeon:
and, some days, you're the statue.

*  Always keep your words soft and sweet - , just in case you have to eat
them.

*  Always wear stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

*  Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be "recalled" by their maker..

*  If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

*  If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, It was probably
worth it.

*  It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.

*  Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

*  Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.

*  Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

*  The second mouse gets the cheese..

*  When everything's coming your way,
you're in the wrong lane.

*  Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

*  You may be only one person in the world, But you may also be the world to
one person.

*  Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

*  We could learn a lot from crayons ... Some are sharp; some are pretty;
and some are dull. Some have weird names; and all are different colours; but
they all have to live in the same box.

*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.

A little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter:
"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river." The little girl said:
"No, Dad. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.

"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold yours...

Just a joke

Wife: Why you always carry my photo in your handbag to the office?
Husband: Darling , When there is a problem, no matter how impossible, I look at your picture and the problem disappears.

Wife: Oh really honey ,You see, how miraculous and powerful I am for you?
Husband: Yes, I see your picture and say to myself, "What other problem Can there be greater than this one?
