Hi ashaik,
In any point did you mentioned your old passport or passport number in your application ? If you did not mentioned about old passport then you can attach a copy and explanation also that your old passport lost. some cases if it was vialed and lost you must have the legal  documentation like police report, lost advertisement.
 wait may other senior's suggestion.

Thank u HMISABPK well i did mention the details of old passport as there were stampings of Australia and singapore. I filed petition to file for FIR but they are taking time and Iam nearing my 45 days time limit. I did get the missing AD in news paper. Will that be enough. Please suggest.

While you submit your current passport, send  available photocopies of the lost passport. You may make a statement that the old one is lost and  attach copy of the petition filed to the police together with  any other supporting evidence you can produce.  In fact your lost passport is a Cancelled one and does not have any legal validity. However the CHC might have asked for it to verify the endoresements on it related to your out country travels and visa stamps.

Hi,

I don't think there will be any negative impact for this reason.
Your passport copies ( keep a copy still with you) can be sufficient for their review.
What I understand is many people discard their old passport, when cancelled and replaced with new.
