hi folks, we have our package nearly ready to send, and we are trying to plan our lives.  the question is, do we need to wait until the process is complete before moving to Canada?  I need to go back to work, but I dont want to leave my partner and daughter behind in Belgium while they wait.   Can they come with me in September?   What if they need an interview, will that be in Paris where we are applying?

Thanks friends

I have not read all your posts, I assume you are the sponsor - family applying outland.
Visa exempt folk can visit fairly easily. Visitors to Canada, are allowed to "visit" but not "move".
If they need to attend an interview, then they will need to travel to the visa office.

What if they need an interview, will that be in Paris where we are applying?

CIC will arrange an interview, if necessary, at Canadian Embassy Brussels or Canadian Consulate Antewerp, if she is a resident of  Belgium and applied at Visa Office Paris. Sometimes, the interview will be waived according to the Immigration Officer's discretion.

You can move back but I strongly suggest that your partner and daughter "act" like they are just coming to Canada for a visit since you'll have an outland sponsorship in process. With that said; I would even consider flying seperatly (or at least) showing up at customs seperatly.

Yes the interview will be in Paris if they require one. Once a year a person from Visa Office Paris travels to Belgium to interview people if needed. Personally in that case I would hop in the car and drive the max 4 hours to Paris (visa office is downtown Paris - awesome!) and not wait until it would be that one time/year.
