Hi,
I have a quick question about applying for the OHIP.  Does the 90-day waiting period begin from the date you land as an immigrant, or the date when you actually apply in person for OHIP?

From the date you land.
We went into the office on the 3 month anniversary of our arrival. They issued us a temp card (actually a sheet of paper)to use until the proper cards arrived by mail a couple of weeks later.

By The way, will OHIP need proof that we have been living in the Ontario area, such as an electric bill, credit card bill, phone bill, etc?

Yes, I think we took a property tax bill. Attached is a list of required docs.
