I applied for my offcampus work permit in March.
at the end of april i received a note stating that my case need furthur study.
on May 21st they returned all the application stating that a form was missing( i am 100% positive that I sent it)
I sent back my application after a couple of days and now when I call CIC they tell me again that they need furthur study and gave me a time frame of 16 weeks!!!!

is anyone having similar problem??? the website says that Vergeville unit 777 needed aprox 15 days to finish not 16 weeks

If they already spoke with you and told you that the case need more time to study.. there's is nothing you can really do.. just wait for their answer..

Good Luck!

i know that all that i can do now is wait but i am asking if this is happening often with other applicants or its just my bad luck.

p.s. i am really pissed off, i have a job offer for 15$/hour, if I dont get the work permit in two weeks I will loose the job

Hi Atm, you are not alone. I also applied for post graduation work permit and it is taking longer time than usual. The CIC agents informed me that it is under further verification. Do not worry, it seems like many of us facing the same problem.

Thank you.
