Hello everyone!!! My husband just called the CIC asking about the status of our application since the CIC received our application last October 3. The CIC agent told him that there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many applicant for October 3. Maybe it will take 3 days to finish, just the October 3 alone but they are working on it already. They told us, they will just inform us by email as soon as it is approved. The forwarding of our papers to our respective visa offices, will be done at the same day it is approved. Well, thats the update so far good luck to us all. |

you are right, my ecas shows that they received my app. on Oct. 11-th even though I know for sure that it was delivered on Oct. 7.  they took me 4 days  , but hey at least I know they got it. and I guess we are a bit inactive because we all eagerly waiting for the next approval |

Just hopping over from September, checking how you guys are holding up.
To reassure you: Not being able to log in to Ecas is NOT something to worry about. The sponsor will usually be able to log in long before the applicant does, also the sponsor will see all the information while the applicant won't be able to see the sponsorship part. It seems to be at the discretion of the VO worker when (and whether) to update Ecas, and whether to send approvals by mail or email. It can take time before you're able to log in to ecas, so don't worry. A number of September people still can't log in to Ecas.
The best time to call CIC is when their weekly update is past the date your application was received. Most agents won't be willing to even check your file until they are past your date (some exceptions apply). So if your application was received on October 22, call them when the official weekly update shows at least October 23. And don't be alarmed if even then you won't get an answer. It might take them up to one or two weeks longer.
To give you an idea what you'll probably be looking at in this topic:
In the September topic, usually the weekends would be down time, then on Monday there might be some good news for one or two members, or sometimes none. Tuesday same. Wednesday was usually CIC's weekly timeline update day (although once they waited till Friday), and also the busiest day when it came to approvals, I nicknamed it Good News Wednesday (my approval letter arrived on Wednesday btw).Then Thursday it would slow down to one or two approvals at most. And Friday would be mostly silent. I started nicknaming it "No News Friday". That was of course before I was startled by a phone call from CIC... on Friday! I was the exception, and eventhough they onjly wanted more info, I could hardly call that "no news"..!

Hi guys, Just jumping into this thread now....application filed October 26, 2011 in Mississauga...to be handled by Guatemala office after approval of my sponoship of my husband(he is Costa Rican). Please add me to the spreadsheet lucky rain! Thank you!!  Hope we start seeing more action by CIC soon.....down to 63 day approval time now but still so sloooooow! |
