abelkwh and jdkim,

Please behave yourselves! I cannot believe that 2 proffessionals are fighting like kids on a forum! stop berating each other and act like adults!

Jesus, what has this world come to!

And btw, abelkwh, just because you have got your visa doesn't mean you'll "burst the bubble" of other waiting applicants...you should be helping them out, encouraging them!

jdkim, please, by all means, do apply..you'll never know, Canada might just be needing people like you!

Cheer up guys!

They will accept the documents from the date they stamp the receiving date. When the document is received at the CIO, office even at the reception, they mark the date and usually that date should be applicable, but what I have seen and heard from my friends, that when the documents packet is forwarded to the right department that date is marked and usually if your packet reaches them on 1st July they usually send it to the department same day or next day and that date is marked.

So I do not think if you sent the packet and if it reaches them after June, 25th 2010, new rules will be applicable.

hi rocky,

do you mean that if i have sent my appln on June 24th by Fedex to reach CIO on June 30, so will my appln be processed as per old rules since it is postmarked prior to June 26 deadline or will they send my appln back? pls guide .......

If they send my appln back, will they charge my credit card? pls guide .......

many thks

If it reaches them after 26th June, then new rules will be applicable and they might send your application back and also might charge your card and refund it later. See they always use to charge the card or get the DD cashed whether the file was accepted or rejected so that is how I am saying about the CC being charged.

Regarding the date also, I sent my on25th May and it reach on 29th May but the email said that we received your application on 1st June. So you can now calculate the applicable date.

ppai,

They might look at the date you had mailed it out and process it under the previous process (38 occupations..)

My opinion is that if CIO is going to send your application back, they don't charge anything. It would be the same as having the application incomplete.

Cheers

For"Investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed persons" they have closed the gates on 26th june however for this class they are saying that
CIC has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the federal immigrant investor program. Only applications postmarked   or received before June 26, 2010, will be processed. This pause will continue until certain regulatory amendments come into force later this year. Check this page for updates.

Now, what I donot understand is ...... For this category they are going by "postmark" but for FSW1 they are going by "receiving date"
Is'nt it unfair??

I Just logged in on Monday and the news came as shocker to me.

This is awful for aspirants who were planning to apply some time soon.

I have received many PM with two questions and I would like to answer them here as well

1.) There is no impact on people whose application have been received by CIO before 26th June, even if they have not received AOR
2.) Any one who has AOR from CIO or CHC ofcourse is unaffected
3.) Finally for those who have applied and application is in transit it is BAD news. If your application is received after 26th June, it will be treated under new rules

Ishaq, they should have received your application by Jun 26th. You should only worry if they had not received it for some reason but other than that, you should be fine.

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

Dear ishaq4u and salman

The new rules only hold true for applicantion received after 26th June. If your application was received before this date whether you received AOR or not, do not worry.
