hi experts in the forum,
i want your opinion on this: if after application is sent to CIC and one gets a job offer leading to AEO, does this in anyway, speed up the process?
A friend is at the verge of securing a job with a public institution in Canada, but wants to apply for FSW1 (his NOC is eligible) now and if he does get the job, get the AEO and forward it to the CIC/VO. Is this wise or he should just wait for the outcome of his job application before applying to CIC?

Is there any special secret about getting a permanent job offer from Canada? I sent 352 emails and nobody answered. What is the catch? I know there is one, so if anyone has a hint, lets step on it, please.Smiley

lol....well, he has made countless applications and most employers want to know his eligibility to work in Canada. he has not got any CONCRETE offer yet though.  infact employers are put off by having to get involved and the lenghty process. it's just sheer perseverance  and the profession in question... good luck!

If he applies under FSW 1 and later after getting AEO he sends the AEO to CIC or VO, USELESS
because he applied under FSW 1,
and if he wants to claim points for AEO he needs to apply again under FSW 2.
Hope it helps
Thanks
Wicky

Once your application is categorized to be processed under FSW-1 by CIO Sydney, changing to FSW-2 is possible, however if the file has reached the Visa Office for processing, they will take undue time & your file will be delayed considerably before it will get processed under FSW-2.

It's better to put a new application under FSW-2.

CIC have made the rules for AEO, but find it difficult to administer it successfully. They themselves are unable to implement the rulebook successfully to weed out fraudulent cases filed with AEO's. In turn the process gets delayed for deserving applicants leading to a 2-3 year (first at HRSDC & then at CIO/VO) wait for employers.

So unless you are a Rocket Scientist your prospective employer will lose interest in you or they just want to stay away from this process. Therefore finding an employer who is willing to file & wait for your AEO FSW-2 application to materialize into a PR will be very difficult. Although many would want to hire you but would be unwilling to wait ! Sad

So it's better to start work with your employer via the work permit visa or in some cases you can work offline via the internet or find a way to keep the employer interest alive.

This whole AEO category policy needs an overhaul I think !

Hi mandiebraxton,

I agree with yukon, to add some more points
hi experts in the forum,

I am not sure if that will expedite the process coz I have seen people waiting here for years with LMO's,but the CIC site says,
If you have an offer of permanent employment from a Canadian employer, it can improve your chances of having your federal skilled worker application approved.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-employment.asp

A friend is at the verge of securing a job with a public instition in Canada, but wants to apply for FSW1 now and if he does get the job, get the AEO and forward it to the CIC/VO. Is this wise or he should just wait for the outcome of his job application before applying to CIC?

If your friend's NOC is under the 29 occupations list of the Ministerial Instructions and his eligibility points >= 67, then he can go ahead and apply under FSW1 and once he receives the + AEO, he can update the VO accordingly.
But if the NOC he is planning to apply under is not in the 29 occupations list of MI or has reached the cap, then its better to wait till he receives his +LMO and apply under FSW2.

All the Best
