Hi,
I'm a RN with diploma nursing of 9 yrs experience from India, just received my PR visa, yet not found the job in canada.

Planning to land in Toronto, but, people say that ontario nursing board does not allow diploma's to enter as a RN.
Some of my friends advise that the registration for RN in other province also takes longer time.
so, suggesting me to apply for RPN in Toranto-ontario which seems to be bit lesser time for processing than for RN.

So, i am just in oscillation, whether to apply for RN registration in any other province?? even not sure about the province??
or to apply for RPN registration in Ontario??

Plz discuss and recommend me in this regard, and i have to recide sooner and start processing as my visa gets expired in next 8 months time.

before you land in toronto, try to apply for your assessment, check their website www.cno.org.
send them e-mail. they will reply for sure and send you assessment form.

hi there!!! 678 CAD? so you' ll be applying for RN registration?  i'm thinking if it's advisable to register first under RPN, 'coz it's much easier to be eligible, or would it  be better to go directly for RN registration? & besides, RPN reg fee is cheaper, it's half the price of the RN reg.

RN or RPN?   Embarrassed Roll EyesHuh

How long did it take to process your RN License. .  Are you landing in toronto.  With the PR and license you have much luck in getting a job down here.  Check on the job banks website.

currently I only have a US RN license, but planning on getting the RN certification from BC or Ontario. I actually got eligibility to take up the exam from BC board and it took around 1 month for getting the approval. But I am thinking where good opportunities are and based on that I will plan to take up the exam. Please let me know which place has more opportunities for new RN's.

So I guess you are still waiting for the ontario college of nursing assessment.  It needs a lot of head cracking when it come to where your prospect job would found.

Good luck and best of luck in you course.
