Wow congrats!!!! that's seriously wonderful news!

Just today I received a letter from CIC asking me to pay the $490.00  RPRF fee. Wondering if this is a good sign? We still have to produce our Clearance of Conduct document from the Singapore Police Force. Does anyone know if this is a good sign?

Hi , Infoseeeker, My wife was there in Singapore for 5 years. As u know Singapore does not give Police clearance with out official request from Canadian Visa office. Really appreciate if you could help me with following questions.

1) How long it took u to get official letter request from your visa office and
2) How long it took Singapore police to send Police clearance to your visa office

Thanks

They dealt with me proper too! Actually, I feel the burden of CIC because they are processing tens and thousands of applications from all over the world. The people working there go through every detail of info in the package we sent. I can't blame them if they fall behind in updating their website's processing time or fail to give acknowledgement letter to each applicant. Your case will depend of the information in the package you sent. As for my experience, I was surprised to hear from CIC in less than the standard processing time they posted on their website. I was given updates every two weeks in my e-cas. And right now, we are patiently waiting for the visa. I am aware how hard it is to wait for some news and without knowing when it will come is even harder but if you know you have a complete package and you have followed every instruction given by CIC on their immigration and sponsorship guides, then all you have to do is wait....and be patient, of course.

I agree with every word you said. I put a lot of research thought and common sense into our app, and left no room for error. That often helps speed things up.

Hi there Image6000,

We submitted our papers in November and we heard in end of Jan that I had been approved as a Sponsor and that our paper work has been sent to KL for processing. In Mid March we got an email indicating that they needed the Clearance from SG SPF office. Just last week, my wife went there with all of our paper work including the official letter from CIC requesting the Clearance, but for some reason the person helping her screwed up and told us that we still needed to appeal and that would take 10 days, then she would need to apply which would take up to 3 weeks. We were shocked. Anyway, next day, an officer called her and told her that they had made a mistake and asked us to go again to apply. The official letter was enough and no need to appeal and wait the 10 business days. my goodness!!!!

Anyway, we did all of our paper work and they will apparently mail directly to the KL office. It should take up to 3 weeks before they mail it directly there. I hope this helps!
