Hello Mitali,

Just wanted to inquire about marriage and birth certificates.

Should i send origionals or notarized copies are ok?

Please guide and help.

Regards
Zee

The chk list demands only COPY...but applicants do want to be on the safe side , so they send Notarised copies of BC and MC....No Originals.

Yes, follow the new Chklist....again if one is overtly concerned about notarization then, one might as well do it instead of living in a state of uncertainty. Although simple copies would suffice the purpose.

Hello Mitalli,
Please correct me if I am wrong.
The guide also says that any document that is not in English or French must be translated. So the translation must be done with a notary's stamp on if anyway. Putting behind the translation only the simple copy will do.

Is that mean an original translation of bc and mc which stamped by the translator is enough

the translation must be legalized by a public notary.

Hi Alex,

The translation should be done by a CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR. The original document and the Notarised translated document will form one set of document.

You have to notarise the translated document too. Sometimes the translators may have the authority to notarise too... but seal of Notarization or certified is required.

From the chklist:

If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the original version.

I sent the original translation which stamped and signed by the certified translator as well as stamped by the translation company and also he attached a copy of the birth certificate which also stamped by the translation company's stamp so is that ok or not
