I am a US citizen, getting married to a Canadian citizen, and planning to apply outland but mainly stay in Canada on a visitors visa until my PR comes through.  I have 2 children from a previous relationship, their father is also a Canadian citizen, the older child was born in Canada, the younger born in the States (currently applying for proof of citizenship), so both are Canadian citizens.........my question is, will my new husband need to sponsor them?  The reason the question comes up is because of the support clause in the sponsorship app.   I don't think he will have to sponsor them, I just want to double check before starting to fill out the app.

Thanks,
Lindy

Never mind, found the answer.  Says right on the app "Must include all dependent children..............who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada".
Would have deleted the post, but it wouldn't let me.
Thanks anyway!

No need to delete - your post might help someone else along the way!  You will be including your children on form IMM5406 - Additional Family Members - so I would suggest that you include copies of either their Canadian passports (if you get them in time) or their Canadian citizenship certificates with your sponsorship application so there are no questions or confusion in Buffalo about them not needing to be sponsored.  You don't want any unnecessary delays.

You should probably also consider - if you haven't already - whether you're going to be required to show authorization from their father for them to travel to Canada.
