While checking for the list of documents to be submitted for the application to Canada, I found that the original transcripts related to education have to be produced. Now in case all the transcripts are not available, what is the alternative for this? Will a letter from the respective university suffice informing that whatever documents are available will be dispatched? One of my friend is unable to apply along with me as none of his transcripts/answer sheets are retained by the university after three years from the time he graduated(This was about 10 years ago). But there are documents to help that he had appeared for the examinations like the HALL TICKETs for each year etc and the convocation certificate and the marks list of his graduation.

Please let us know on this so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

Ravi,

You have to provide them Written explanation to CIC about why you not able to do it.

You have provide attested mark-sheets with is from University or college .

Also see what others advise on it.

Mayank

Has anyone come across such situations and is there any way we can get a sample letter written to the office or should I draft one. If I am not wrong, does the university has to attest this letter before sending it to CIC?

It will be best if you get letter from university on it. It should say why it is not possible to provide transcript.

I second this idea to accompany your cover letter!  You have to look at it from the perspective of the officer reviewing the file.  If it was you....what concerns would YOU have about these education credentials?  Make sure the application leaves nothing to fate.
