It is number of applications received which have passed the completeness test (incomplete applications do not count towards the cap).

Nobody knows how fast it will fill, but my guess is 2 to 4 weeks, could be 6 weeks if you're lucky, since they'll be plenty of applications left over from last year who are submitting.

I think 20th August will be far too late, but of course no-one knows. Maybe wait a few days for the totals to be published so you can judge for yourself how fast the NOC cap is filling?

Also I would recommend attending a CIIP course after you get med requests!

Well first up, book your IELTS test asap. The results are valid for 2 years, so if you don't get into the cap this year you can save the results for next year.

No idea whether NOC 1122 will be on the list next year, of course there can be no guarantees.

Anyway, I would book an IELTS test, wait until (hopefully next week?) the put up the first set of total applications received, and you can judge whether you are likely to get an application to them in time.

How quickly can you gather work references and contracts etc? And also get any birth/marriage certificates copied and notarized?

If you don't, you will have the IELTS all ready for 1st July next year and cross fingers 1122 is still on the list by then.
