Hello Gurus,

Since 2171 is no longer in the list, what will happen to applicants who applied under this NOC and received a file number ??

Any thoughts ?

"Any applications postmarked on or before May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the previously posted list. All applications postmarked after May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the list currently posted."

So if you have a file number, you are safe (even with NOC 2171)!

Even though if you don't have file number and package(postmarked on or before May 19) sent to Alberta are fine. So people sent on May 19th as a postmark are also fine too.

This is just my assumption.

Yes, Any applications sent on or before 5/19 will still be considered for NOC 2171. I had the same question and got an email reply from AlNP

I'm sorry for the confusion about my early post.

I meant that all the applications sent on or before May 19 are fine as long as the applicant's NOC code was on old list.

So, YES, NOC code 2171 works for all applications that have been postmarked on or before May 19!

And you can find this information on Alberta website;
http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/srsvisaholder.html

"Any applications postmarked on or before May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the previously posted list. All applications postmarked after May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the list currently posted."

So if you have a file number, you are safe (even with NOC 2171)!
