I was all ready to submit my CEC application next week but heard my Colleague that his friend's application was rejected since he didn't submit the birth certificate copy. I don't have it either and took the certificate of DOB from Indian Consulate to be submitted along with the application. It would take 3 -4 months to get Birth Certificate from my place and I am leaving Canada in 4 months.

I am confused as to what to do. Please, anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks jsa. I already have the Certificate of DOB from Indian Consulate, toronto. However I heard this is not sufficient.

Submit your application with the Certificate of DOB from Indian Consulate.  Then start trying to get the "real" one so you can have it if/when they ask for it.
