Sir K,please what did u write in your submission?when was this?was it under the new fast track?please did u pay another $1100.00 to accra?if no,how did you deal with not sending a payment proof?thanks bro

I followed the instruction guide in form IMM EG 7000

1. It was a two page letter highlighting my education in English studies from primary school to the university. I attached a lot of documents, credentials, publications (where I was the corresponding author) copies of awards from international conferences where I delivered papers in English, pay slips etc. Also the courses I teach in the University are taught in English Language.
2. Its under the fast track and it was submitted sometime in May this year.
3. I do not understand the question on $1100, pls expatiate.

Well for sure guys every case is different...is any one using a lawyer? I have the feeling they might be of great help in helping you get to the bottom of these issues right? Someone please let me know...

thanks Sir K,i want to know if you paid $1100 again while submitting to Accra.if you didn't, what did you use to notify them you had paid earlier?

Dreamteam,
A receipt of payment was sent to me from CIO after my initial application to Sydney. When they replied that I can submit the full application to the local office, they attached the evidence of my payment. It was that slip that i included in my final application to Accra. I did not pay any other money.

i have a transcript i got for a professional body in Canada and a letter from my school stating i was trained in English language,though, dated 2008, i am of the opinion it could still be used for the docs i am sending to Accra since the purposes of the documents can't be changed by any dates i.e. language used for training and my marks too.can i use them?

Pls include everything (Documents supporting your abilities in English Language) irrespective of the date.

been working for about 8years on contracts,but the nature of my work
involves work for about 14hours/day, want to add that to my letter of work experience
hope it would add to my time
i have not official work in 8months,can i write for upto the last time i worked?

Mbomulu, the IELTS thing I guess de optional but if dem come score u low bcos u know do ielts , na ur toro. Anyway, my lawyer adviced me to just do d thing, after cic london asked me if I want make dem process am without ielts. I do the thing with a day prep and got 7.5 overall band. If u get time just do the thing.

Man, well done O. I think say, I'go better make Guys just do the thing and forget about am, before man wake palaver for "inself"
To get between 7 to 7.5 in all of the modules i.e Minimum of 12points, should not be a problem for any Educated Nigerian or anybody that had his/her tertiary education in Nigeria.

Nice to know we r all hanging in there i know most are  going the immigration way but what do u guys think abt the high rate of study permit refusals at CDHC in lag. Reasons u have nt proved that u r bonafide student or u have not proved u'll return upon completion of ur studies and all such. Nawa oh

Dat Na True. You go need to prove to dem say you dey go for further studies, like say, you don finish college or get first degree and also dat you go come back when you finish your studies.   En, but di main problem be say na wetin dem want as proof?
Na dis bit wey dey eat me and I want to Know.

There has been lots of confusion over this ielts issue, and its been overflogged many times over. The problem stems from the fact that folks base their judgement on what Mr XYZ did 2months ago, without having a clear background info about Mr. XYZ.

I made a written submission, but that was because i only needed 4points under the language proficiency to qualify, and i didn't see the need to go write a test just to make 4points out of a possible 16/24. Mine was ok, and i'm expecting my Passports from Accra anytime from now, but i don't know how many points they awarded based on my write-up. Doing the test would have pushed me to 80points which wouldn't be of any additional use to my application. I would have written the test if i'd needed 16points to make the passmark, cos there are no guarantees with written submissions - Immigration officers are not trained language proficiency assessors, and you could have 3 different caseworkers awarding 3 different marks for the same write-up.

I have looked into the language assessment handbook they use, and its a massive book nubering hundreds of pages, certainly its not what they'd be happy to do all the time.

In a nutshell, if you need max points under the language proficiency - its wise to do the ielts; if its just say 4points - there are better chances of scaling through with a written submission. Every case is treated on its own merit. A written submission of an Accountant with ExxonMobil may not be awarded similar points with that of another Accountant working for Ogo-oluwa Nigeria Enterprises.
