If I am in your shoe. I will not take any food with me. what does it really add by taking gaari with you? However Gent2 took dry vegs and fish with him and it was allowed in Calgary.

Safe trip

Regards to all my wonderful people on this forum.
Please I want to seek your opinions on this: I am the principal applicant and I applied for the FSW with my maiden name because It is the name on my E-passport and all of my documents at that time. We did our medicals middle of last month, by GOD'S grace we are going to get our passport request soon and I will prefer the visa on my marriage name so am thinking of getting an E-passport in my New Name but am afraid of anymore delay or whatever.
I want to know if I should just present the old passport or get a new passport and inform VO on my new passport, please advise me.

The real issue should be if you will be able to get new passport while the one you have its still valid. Otherwise I think dealing with the VO after PPR is quite easy.
Only do a covering letter for it. Or at best defer everything till you get to Canada. Simply

If I am in your shoe. I will not take any food with me. what does it really add by taking gaari with you oga, it may be a kind of soft transistion between our Naija delicacies and the Oyinbo ROFOOROFOO.am kind of  selective with food(i.e i no dey chop several things) and i knw i really will av challenges in that area...Even na for inside plane i go begin miss our naija delicacies.how i wish the U.S.A dosent require transit visa, would av gone with Arik to Newyork and then connect Montreal by road.bcos me i no understand all this Hindu meal, jewish cuisine, religious food wey Qatar airways won offer  Shocked Shocked.i just hope den go get cereals However Gent2 took dry vegs and fish with him and it was allowed in Calgary.

Okay!, Garri Ijebu will be allowed so long as you give it a French name, when you arrive Quebec airport. Cheesy Cheesy

I think a lot Garri is allowed BUT make sure that whatever food stuff you are carrying is in a transparent bag and is appropriately and visibly labelled.I have known dry fish to raise eye brows though
