@ Tinuade, GoldenApple, Kcsider, vikolo, Tokzeeee et al, CONGRATS. I'm happy for us all. This shows our God answers prayers. Pls lets continue to fire our prayer arrows for divinely accelerated processing & favourable conclusion of our applic. As someone suggested, lets remember our main oldies. They are long over due. Let God arise 4 them.
I think we have reasons to celebrate , jubilate & jolificate in our nxt meeting by. God's grace, none of us will be left out this re-awakening of Accra IJN.

please i am confused, the banks in Nigeria can only make a bank draft in us dollars and not Canadian dollars.
there is a recent change in the cic website where you can make a payment to the visa office and then send ur application to Sydney with proof of payment from visa office.

am i right or wrong because i have tried for up to three months to get a bank draft in Canadian dollars to no avail and CIO would not accept us Dollars

please i need clarification on this issue as it is delaying my application and i dont want to make mistakes.

thanks

U can get draft in Canadian dollar by visiting Gtbank Awolowo Rd Branch Ikoyi Lagos.Al Imam

Spicey

Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but by a divine inspiration. Actually money is not my problem. My money should do the work while I sleep.
I am glad you are a man of the spirit. I am not going to Canada to run to and fro for money but to enjoy my life after retirement
I am due for retirement already.

So , I will just board my KLM flight from Lagos- Calgary. Land in Calgary Airport, then charter a txai ( No MOLUE. I would have prefer a MOLUE BECAUSE OF MY LOAD- garri, Amala, yam, Kpomo, Cow leg, Cow tail, Okporoko   etc)   to my townhouse and welcome myself to Calgary with HOT POUND  YAM AND CORRECT EGUSI SOUP.

Pa Naija and his team are cordially invited to grace my house warming ceremony  DATE - SOON

On a seroius note. My enquiry has been answered by OLOYE AND PROF QORAX

Wishing you all the best in the weeks ahead

Tinu,

CIC definition of dependent is direct family members. Family members include a spouse (wife or husband or same sex in legal marriage); a common-law partner (person who is living in a conjugal relationship with another person (opposite or same sex));  dependent children (Refers to the children of the applicant or those of the spouse or common-law partner), and the dependent child of a dependent child (Refers to children of dependent children of the applicant or those of the spouse or common-law partner.):

If the 16+ who has been living with you falls within above definition then she can be added. Other dependent outside this definition will come under sponsorship application after your landing.

The case of adoption makes the child more or less your dependent as soon as all legal docs are finalized. That is another possible option.

Oloye

Thanks for the clarification Pa Oloye.

My Good people

How una day, I ask just one question yesterday, every body begin tear mouth for me.Today, I want to ask another question

1. What is meant by the following
  a- A Town house
  b- A House
  c- An apartment
  d- A Condo
   e- A Duplex

I have a family of four, which of them do I need ?

I am asking this because I saw a vacant townhouse in Calgary yesterday( Online) and I want to send money to friend  rent the house for me
Oya, PA RIGHT, PA NAIJA CHILD, LOLO EZINNE , MAKE UNA TALK
Below was Oloye's response to thejackson's question on LANDED NAIJA'S FORUM. It should be helpful to all.

First of all, let me tell you that all (a to e) are house but their structure and form differentiate them. The structure here comprises of Detached house, Semi detached, town house, condo and apartment

a. Detached Houses: These are houses built in a stand alone form. Just like the way we build our houses in Naija. It can be 3 or 4 bedrooms and 2 or more wash rooms. Mostly 2 storey with the rooms at the second floor; kitchen, living room and main entrance at the ground level floor while the basement is the one below the ground level. Laundry is mainly at the basement if not rented out. Rent could be btw $1400 and $1800/month in addition to rent, you have to pay for utilities like light, water, heating and pack snow. You are performing the role of a landlord in a rented house

b. Semi detached: These are houses in which two are built together with spaces by the sides in which you have right only on the space by your house while the other landlord has the other space.  Mostly 2 storey with the rooms at the second floor; kitchen, living room and main entrance at the ground level floor while the basement is the one below the ground level. Laundry is mainly at the basement if not rented out. Rent btw $1200 and $1600/month and you have to pay for utilities like light, water, heating and pack snow. You are performing the role of a landlord in a rented house

c. Town Houses: These are houses built together in a row without space in between except at the extreme ends Their length can span a whole street. Mostly 2 storey with the rooms at the second floor; kitchen, living room and main entrance at the ground level floor while the basement is the one below the ground level. Laundry is mainly at the basement if not rented out. Apart from paying mortgage and for other utilities  monthly maintenance fee is also charged by management of that compound. Unlike detached or semi detached that do not warrant monthly maintenance fee.

d. Condos: These are mostly high risers that each unit is mainly owned by individual but most of them are rented out as investment properties. Mostly 1,2 and 3 rooms. Though built in apartment form, but unlike apartments, they are designed to give more comforts as they are equipped with more amenities like washing machine and parking slot. Monthly maintenance fee is included. If you are renting condo, your landlord (The original owner of the unit) would have added it to your rent cost. Rent is btw $1000 an $1400

e. Apartments: They are mostly high risers too like condos but they are built and managed by a company, organisational bodies or developers. Mostly, 1,2 or 3 rooms with stove and fridge inclusive (Normal standard for all houses.) Washing machines are mostly in central room and paid for as per usage. Rent is btw $800 and $1300 based on structure, location, age of properties and other factors. No snow packing and no compound cleaning except within your apartment.

f: Basement: Basements too are rented out cost bt $600 and $1000. With separate entrance bot below the ground level

If you are a family of 4 apartment will be the best option for you.

Hope this helps. Other landed can pls add more.
