 Good day yalls,
                        Im a newbie to this forum, so be gentle with me. I hope everyone is doing well. So let me get right to it. I am sponsoring my husband to Canada, the application has been sent to Toronto since June of 2010. I received a letter to pay the RPRF on March 2/11, the payment has been made and the receipt mailed to Mississauga. I just need some feedback on how long it will take for the Jamaican embassy contact my husband and request his passport. Will they call? Will they send a letter? Im totally clueless. What are your thoughts?

yaadgirl : Welcome Yaadgirl!!! From what I understand, once Kingston contacts you to request additional information, such as the PRF, the immigration officier will usually set a bring forward date to check the file to see if the information has been received. The consensus seems to be 60 days from the date of the letter. We all learn however that Kingston is very unpredictable. There are no set rules that they abide by. It is great news however to have been contacted and you are most definitely well on your way so congratulations!!!

Welcome yaadgirl, wish i could offer some more info but what Lilmaya said sounds pretty accurate from what i know. doesn't seem like Kingston has a set way of doing things.

 yaadgirl : oh .. as far as the second part of your question... i believe they try to call first. If they don't get a hold of your husband, then they will send a letter. Obviously you want him to get that phone call to avoid a bring forward date delay!

wow, just getting caught up on all the forum discussions.  nice to see a newbie KGN forum.  sometimes it's so depressing seeing all the "hubby landed" updates in the other discussion.  good for history but not motivating some days.

glad to see lots of prayers going around here.  we sure could use some.  i just got back from visiting hubby.  this was the hardest time to leave.  i'm getting real close to my stepson and he's growing so fast.  he says my name now and cried when i left.  that was heartbreaking!

i was reading lilmaya and proper's story for meeting.  love to hear them stories.  my hubby and i met by circumstance too.  it's amazing.  they say when u meet the one you will know and it is soooo true.  hubby and I are so meant to be together and I can't believe it sometimes.  really missing him and wish he could be here to start the new chapter of our life together.

e-cas still says application rec'd.  the meds rec'd disappeared a few weeks ago and hasn't come back yet.  we still don't get AOR letter.  we sent in all original docs so I'm saying no news could be good news but the wait is killing us.  i had hubby sign the release form so I can request CAIPS if we don't hear soon.  I figure since we are heading in to election my MP may feel needy for my vote and do a bit of digging for us.  since we don't have hubby's file# I'm gonna check in next week and see if they can assist with that.  Maybe some other info will come out of the inquiry.

togirl2011: Welcome TOGIRL!! Doesn't it seem harder to leave them behind each time. It doesn't help when I had myself convinced in January ( 2 months after I submitted my application) that my husband was going to come home with me.  Delusional I know. My husband also has a 3 year old daughter who I spent some time with this time and I just fell in love with her and we were getting so close. I just hope she won't forget me and hope we don't have to go backwards and try to re-establish a relationship again! It must have been so hard to watch your stepson cry! Are you sponsoring him also? It's so sad to know how much she will change by the next time i see her. The first two weeks after being back are the very hardest!! Hang in there hun.

When you find that person you were always meant to be with, it is just so magical and so worth the wait. There will be a day when we will barely recall these days that we've struggled through. I don't know about you all but i feel like this time apart has also made our relationship so much stronger. We have nothing to do but talk and talk and talk. I feel like I have known my husband my entire life! I hope you will share your how you met story with us TOGIRL!

We definitely need the prayers and it is just the most wonderful feeling to know we are all praying for eachothers happiness and having the support of people know EXACTLY where we are coming from. My medical received also disappeared for good and we have not received an AOR letter either. I do however take comfort in a new girl that came on not too long ago.. phenomenalwoman.. who's husband got a call to drop off his passport and they didn't get an AOR letter at all. So we'll pray to go straight through. Skip all the little steps!!

Please keep up posted on your progres with your MP. The witing is so hard but through prayer it won't be much longer!!

Well I am not gonna go down like Proper tonight.. no sappy songs for this girl! I am gone to my bed to dream sweet dreams of my husband and wake up tomorrow to a PRODUCTIVE TUESDAY!
Maybe to us it has been quiet in Kingston but they have been hard at work these last couple weeks and we will only be made aware of this work when our phones start ringing off the hook!! God is hearing our prayers and they will be answered in due time.
