I mailed my study permit application two weeks ago to New York consulate and my school starts in early January. Does anyone know the current processing time in New York? I 've read some postings here about that it takes really long to get the passport and visa back which makes me really paranoid now.

you got any response from NY consulate related your study permit..? my wife had applied from buffalo consulate 2 weeks ago...

No. but it's only been two weeks and NY office takes about 6 weeks to process a student visa so I don't expect them to get back to me within 5 weeks.
