New work permit while extension is in process.

I am currently inside Canada in Open work permit as a dependent to my Spouse.Our work permit has been expired and applied for extension. Extension is in process with CIC. I have an offer letter from a company and would like to apply for new closed work permit in my name , so that my spouse will get an open work permit.Do I have any way to apply for work permit in this scenario?

Did the prospective employer apply for LMO in your favour? Do you have the LMO now?

I think you cannot applied if you are under "implied status", need to wait until you receive your new Work Permit.
