Hi,

My wife is just 2 months here in Canada as a PR & with a job. Im a PR myself with a multiple entry visa to the USA and with a job as well.
I want to have my wife apply for a tourist visa so we can visit the USA.
When is the best time to apply? I've been hearing that they'll reject you if you are only PR for less than a year, some say 6 months.
Based on experience, what are my wife's chances of getting approved for a US visa if she has resided for only 2 months. By the time we book an appointment at the US embassy in Toronto, it will be 4 months....all schedule are fully booked til January.
Appreciate inputs.
Thanks

John

You'd have to contact your local U.S. diplomatic post for more information on that. U.S. immigration has nothing to do with Canadian immigration, so I don't think you'll be able to get much information here, unless someone has personal knowledge of this from their personal experience.

The problem with that is that rules change all the time, especially in the U.S.A. post-9/11, so I still recommend you contact their post directly...
