*New Member* Canadian Married to USC.. and lost!

oook so heres our story: Im Canadian and my husband is American. We were married in las vegas and i have since returned to toronto while he resides in las vegas. We began the process to have me immigrate to the states, we're actually more than half way done... BUUUTTTT i have recently decided i love it here and we would like to start our life in Canada (pain in the a**, i know lol) soooo now i need to know what we should do to get him here quickly:

Outward: If he stays in the states and we apply will he be eligable for a visitor/workers visa once IM approved as a sponsor or
do we have to wait till his country processes it???

or is there a way i can have him here where hes able to work while we process?!?

im lost  and very much miss my hubby. please help!

As far as I know, he would NOT be eligible for a work permit once you are approved as a sponsor if he's applying outland.

Does he qualify for a work permit through any other means, maybe a TN? http://www.canadavisa.com/nafta-temporary-work-permit-canada.html

Processing times for those are a lot faster, he'd be able to work up in Canada after only a couple months if he qualifies.

Anyone know if there's a conflict created if you apply for a work permit and PR at the same time? Seems like there should be, but I'm not sure how that would work.

Odd question, but how long is the process for you to be able to live in the states?  Does it take as long or longer than for your husband to come to canada?

There is no work permit with sponsor approval for outland applications. However the complete processing is usually much faster than the times listed on the wesbite.
He could come visit/stay with you while you are applying, but wouldnt be able to work until the process was complete. He doesnt need a visitor visa since he is a US citizen, just his passport. He would be able to stay upto 6 months legally.

The inland application offers a work permit after 1st stage approval, but this takes about 9/10 months and he would have to stay in canada and not leave.
