I wanted to advise anyone that might be immigrating to BC Canada and looking to set up their banking here that HSBC offers a great program that has been developed to help newcomers to Canada get established.  The basics of the program are that a client may have up to 3 chequing accounts with no monthly fees for 1yr. The client also is eligible to have a high rate savings account where interest is paid on all balances up to $1,000,000. The client will also be able to apply for a MasterCard and Line of Credit with reduced qualifying criteria. On top of what has already been offered, the client will also receive preferential rates for mortgages, loans and lines of credit.
