Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anybody knows how up to date the IELTS results need to be? Can I take the test now and submit my application some time in May or June?

Hi Kana da,

Yes, you can appear for IELTS now or after 2 months and apply in May or June-11.

FYI, IELTS results are validated for 2 years from the date of application.

It has changed again.  Language tests results are again back to being valid for 1 year.

Hi

Can you provide the link please?  According to this one, they are valid for two years.

Ops Manual 06 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf  Sec. 12.5  1 year
Checklist for skilled workers http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5612E.PDF  #9   1 year

But http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp  Says 2 years  It is dated 23/12/10 So your guess is as good as mine at this point.  I think that I might go with 2 years validity, as this seems to be the latest posting.

Hi

Ops Manual 06 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf  Sec. 12.5  1 year
Checklist for skilled workers http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5612E.PDF  #9   1 year

But http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp  Says 2 years  It is dated 23/12/10 So your guess is as good as mine at this point.  I think that I might go with 2 years validity, as this seems to be the latest posting.

Manual op6 and CIO checklist is not updated.
Date of latest update:
1. Manual op 6 : last updated in 14 Dec 2010.(mentioning IELTS validity is 1 year)
2. Instruction guide in PDF formet: last updated in 6th Jan 2011(mentioning IELTS validity is 2 years)
3.Instruction guide not in PDF formet: last updated in 21st Dec 2010(mentioning IELTS validity is 1 year)
4. CIO Checklist : last updated in 20th Dec 2010.(mentioning IELTS validity is 1 year)
5. Visa office checklist: last updated in Nov 2010 (for instance: latest update took place in Singapore VO checklist on 11th Nov 2010)
6. "Immigrate section" in CIC website was updated on 23rd Dec 2010 stating that IELTS is valid for 2 years
So, According to the latest update which took place in 6th Jan 2011, General Training IELTS is valid for 2 years instead of 1 year.

regards,
