Hi Rocky

Submitted all documents to CHC Delhi on July 28 2009
Received acknowledgement from CHC Delhi on August 21st 2009
Received fee receipts for dependents on August 24th 2009 (stating that DD has been encashed)

ECAS is still showing no info found.

Thanks
Madhava

ok. Have they issued you a new file number. If not then you can check status with the file number issued by CIO also. If its is also not working then you must email CHC New Delhi about your case and mentioned your file number, Name, DOB and Country of Citizenship. If you do not get a reply in 3 weeks, then you must visit them, New Delhi CHC, counter number 2 in order to get the clarification.

Hope I have answered your query

Hi Rocky

Can you mail me the link of CIO.

Thanks
Mohan
Hi,

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas

the status check link which is common. I mentioned that earlier that CIO send you a file number with B********* which you can use to check the status. Now if
1. Your CIO B number is working then wait and let the new file number update once it is updated you will see the update in both the file numbers.
2. Your CIO B number and CHC B number both are not working then wait till this Tuesday EOD. If it doesnt work till tuesday, email New Delhi regarding your case mentioning the details i mentioned in my previous post.

Best of luck

THANKS ROCKY FOR YOUR REPLY

But I wonder why they have not cancel your old file number yet?
is it normal to use two immigration file numbers at the same time?
is the old file number from CIO will still valid all the time or it will be canceled in the future?

Regards

The AOR with new file number clearly states that both the file number will work but for further communication I should only use the new one.

Congrats Madhava........, so they started processing your application. You will get Medical and passport request with in a couple of weeks..., btw, which state in India you belong to?

You submitted your full documents in the last week of July, correct? The news is very encouraging because most of us are August applicants and our status may also hopefully change in another 2-3 weeks time. Thank you

Hi,

I believe there are still of June'rs and July'ers out there without any updates on their status. My full application reached ND on 16th Jul, still no updates. I suppose it might depend on case by case basis.

I have a question here for everyone. Once we send the files/full application to Local visa office;-

1. Is it opened by a Immigration officer who issues a new file number/AOR/RPRF receipts (If applicable) ?
2. Or is it a normal operational person who issued new file number/AOR/RPRF receipts

My purpose to ask this question is to analyse the timeline and case processing time as per individual I/O.
If it is issued by an I/O then we can analyse how much time will it take referring the old cases accordingly.

Any takers on this one ?

Hi Rocky,

Very good question. I assume the IO takes the eligibility/ point assessment and crucial decisions like calling for medicals, passport and stamping passport etc. Putting a new file number, payment processing etc are procedural /administrative in nature and therefore it may be done by clerical/ Admin staff and IOs may not be doing that.

This is just my personal assumption and can be wrong completely. I have some experience with British High Commission, and I think there only the decision whether to grant visa or not is taken by British Immigration officers and all other functions including employment / financial verification are done by Indian administrative staff.

Thanks. Then just out of curiosity, some people get the AOR and RPRF receipt soon and some do not. If its an administrative guy tasks then there should not be more then 5-6 people doing it. When you get the receipt, some User ID is written on it, like an employee has an employee ID.

Expecting some more takers on it

Hi Nit4canada

Many thanks for your message.

I am from Chennai.

My full application was received at CHC Delhi on Jul 29th 09. Lets wait and see how things move.

I did not understand why the eCAS status page did not show display my status for over a month, till Rocky explained the probable reasons.

Thanks
Mohan
