I got this same reply 45 days back when I sent my inquiry to ND. I am yet to receive medicals but my employer got a call from CIC asking for me. I think your security check is on as per there reply.

I rcvd med + PP request on 18th Dec 09 and completed around 20th Dec + I have also submitted my passport to them around the same time, landing fee I submitted at the time of submitting my full docs to CHC ND in Oct.

Are security checks done before or after med is requested. As per the email reply to Velha_Jatt they mentioned pending for a final review by the VO so was thinking if thats the case for me This is killing .. Not been able to think abt anything else besides CA

Background checks usually done before medical is issued and security until visa issued. Final review mean security check only. Do not worry if you haven't committed any crime or anything you are safe :-) Do be worried

i had received my rprf receipt by ordinairy indian post.

chc   does not use  courier mail. i had received my passport along with permanent confirmation proof
by registered post of post office.

if any body have any question about swc visa  ,he can ask me .he will be  most wel come .

questions for those who have landed in canada on permanent besis.

1.   how much dollers u had taken with u.

2.   if i take 2000 dollers with me, and take  drafts of remaining money , then is it be sufficient for me,(for two persons).

3.   can i take my credit card of HDFC bank .by this way ,will immigration officer satisfy ?

4.   if i take balance certificate of my bank with me, then will it be sufficient?

       answers of above question should be given by ,those persons,who have recently landed in canada.i want to take their advice
       by personal experience.

or whtever u showed to embassy for ur dependents ...
u haev to take it in cash or travel cheque

I inquired on the status of the visa for my sister in law's case . She had submitted the passport on NOv 30.
And here is the reply. All they do is copy and paste. Its been over 45 days now and no progress.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

We are pleased to acknowledge that our office has received the information  referred to in your message below.

This file is currently pending final review by the responsible processing team and a decision by the officer.  As soon as the review has taken place, our office will contact the applicants in case any further documentation or information is required.  If the officer is satisfied all requirements have been met, visas will be issued, following which we will return the passports to the applicant by registered mail.  Kindly note that it can take several days for registered mail to reach its destination.

Please be advised that all statutory requirements must be met before we can issue visas.  We therefore cannot provide you with a precise date by which this application will be finalized and the passports returned. Your continued patience is appreciated.  We can assure you that we give the highest processing priority to cases which are ready for visa issuance for which passports have been submitted.  Until we contact the applicant, either to request additional documents or information or to return the passports, we will not be able to respond to further enquiries.

i landed in june 09 from detroit windsor land border
they asked me how much $$$ i was carrying n i said 2000$
thats it - no more  questions about $$$
no mention regarding bank acct or the balance of 11000 $ etc
however some people's personal experience may vary depending on yr border officer
i m pretty sure if u take a copy of yr old bk statement used for visa office - it shd work
