Dear All,
I am an Indian but currently live in USA on a very fragile F1 visa (student visa). I would like to know if there is anyone in this forum who lives in USA or outside India and have chosen New Delhi as VO. If yes, did you have to face any issues. I know that a passport should not be sent outside the country through post but I guess there are options like quit the job in USA when requested for a passport and then go back to India to submit passport to NDVO. Your reply will be of utmost importance to me as we are planning to send one more application with spouse as PA under 2121 category. Please give your comments and suggestions.
Thank you.

hi finally sent all necessary docs to chc newdelhi to add my newborn daughter to my application...thankx to all for guiding me about docs.... also i forget to tell one interesting thing....when i have informed chc about docs required to add my daughter to my application before then i have sent them email and also a letter by post... they replied to both.....firstly i got email from them and they asked for 2 passport size photos of child, draft for fee,imm008 form,imm5406,birth certificate copy, pasport copy....and after nearly a week they replied to me my letter sent by post and the difference was that this time they asked for 4 passport size photos of child, draft for fee,imm008 form,imm5406,birth certificate copy, pasport copy and proof of funds......so i have sent all docs along with proof of funds as well.......but i m confused why they did theyask for different docs in email and letter.........any one havinng any idea about that.............
Hi sukhi, Sorry, nobody replied for your post. I think, it was just an errorneous email. Go with your letter, which you got from visa office. Best of luck! -Sandeep

Dear Sandeep
I believe you have got your Visa 4 days back - did they asked you any additional docs ? few applicants get visa in less than 2 months but there are few like yours who are awaiting since last year - any guess on reasons of delays ??

Hi Vakta, Our PP's took about 4 months to come back, but everyone's case is different. I guess it depends on how long your security checks take, as well as how long the medicals take to be processed. You should receive an RPRF receipt soon, which will be like your confirmation that CHC has received your PP's.
Hi KK_2011, Thanks for your reply.I want to let you know that I received RPRF on 24th August,2011 as you said. The date written on that letter was actually 2nd August,2011.So I want to further ask you that according to you, when will my passports return to me after this RPRF as it's very much crucial period for me and my hubby. Please reply. Thanks...

Does it mean that when CHC encash the RPRF, they sent a receipt to us? How much time generally they take to encash RPRF? It has been almost 1.5 months I have sent RPRF. They haven't encashed yet.

CHC sends a receipt when the enchash the RPRF. Time actually varies a lot, but genrally it takes 4-5 weeks to get the RPRF reciept

Thanks for your reply. I have a doubt- 4-5 weeks for encashing the RPRF Draft after sending to VO or 4-5 weeks to get the RPRF receipt after encashing the draft by VO?

Regarding passport submission,I know DHL is accepting the passports with the Indian embassy letter. You have to collect the permission letterfrom ur nearest Indian embassy in US and send the passport along with it. Or you can authorise somebody to take ur passport to India, submit it and give any indian address.(ur spouse,ur brother, parents etc..) Hope this helps.. RegardsEdmonta

Hello Friends, Very Simple question. How CIC New delhi sends back Passports? I mean is it via Indian Post (Registered Post) or via Blue Dart (Courier Services).
