Thanks man. As per what I know, CHC ND accepts all liquid moveable assets as POF. Bank statements, FD, MO pending to be cashed. Things like your home, vehicles, PF storage is not accepted. I gave bank statement and FD. When I started it was 1 CAD= Rs. 36 . Its 46 now. Seems like I have been waiting generations !!  Good luck dude !! |

Hi Jessy,
If all goes well, you should brace yourself for a 40 to 60 day wait..... You could be lucky like Jassi but not all can time it perfectly.. It depends a lot on BFD dates.

Hi Snadz..
I opened an account with scotia bank and i beleive they will accept the funds transferred as proof of funds availability. You could also look at credible sources like DD or TC from Thomas cook or Cox & Kings..

My advice will be to renew your passport here. Even if your old passport is cancelled, all the visas will be carry forwarded onto your new passport. I have visas of more than 1 country valid for 5+ years in my old and I have renewed mine. All visas from old get carry forwarded. You new passport will have the old passport # and all you need to do is bind it and take both the passports. So CHil.. and have a good time. And hey pray for us Hi Canaspirant, I also have same kind of query ? Do they give bakc the old passport to us if it has valid visa. Like I have 1 visa till 2017. But my passport is going to expire march next year. And what is rule and policies to apply for new passport. I mean can we apply 1 year before ? Can you or someone else guide me ? |

Yes. They will give you the old passport back. YOu will need to crimp the old passport with the new one otherwise with your new passport, some immigration centers will ask for your old passport. As per CHC, you cannot travel inside 6 months of expiry. You will need to renew it. You can renew it anytime you want to within 2 years of expiry. Which means that this is the right time for applying for a new passport. In the passport office, when your new passport is approved, they will stamp your old passport as cancelled and give it to you in hand. You will need to preserve it and crimp it. Hope it helps. |

Yes all visas get carry forwarded. They will refer your old passport during travel and stamp your entry in the new passport. |
