Hi guys, i got my passport and landing papers tooooo.. yipeeee.

just wanna share what happened in the morning in ***** office,

my consultant informed me on saturday that my name is written wrongly on my landing papers and needs to be resent, but i can collect my passport and other papers, i was heartbroken becuz required to travel asap. but i dont know how my gut feeling said that there is nothing wrong on my landing papers.

so today i went to ***** (my representative, Mr Bharat was handling my case) office rajouri garden in the morning, collected my passport and other related documents and inquire about my landing papers, he told me to come around 17th to collect them as he had resent it to the embassy.
i got little suspicious and told him casually that i would like to remove my representative and will collect my landing paper from Canadian embassy by personnel as it will save my time otherwise my papers will travel from delhi embassy to mohali and than will come to delhi office.

he told me it is not possible as they are my official authorized representative, but i told him confidently that i just need to sign one form to remove my representative and than i will communicate with embassy directly. i affirmed that i will do that tomorrow first thing in the morning.

and then he got frozen like an ice, and just started laughing like an idiot and turned back and opened his drawer to get my landing papers,...

and than he told me that head office told him to hold my papers till 17th so that i can attend their stupid seminar and some body senior from their organization will handover my landing papers to me on some stage with photograph.

trust me guys i almost felt like slapping him on his shamelessness but of course didnt wanna get my hand dirty.

instead i smiled and thanked him and assure than someone from my family will attend their stupid seminar... of course i didnt mean it..

but guys i really felt so pathetic i cant tell you.. and now i am feeling so light after writing all this on the forum..

and one more thing.. few days before i even threatened mohali customer care on phone that i will withrdraw you as my representative unless you give me some info about my application status, and later on the same day i got a call from them that i got my visa stamped..

Guys i really felt pathetic about what happened today ***** office, but also is immensely happy that i got my Passport and landing papers.

may be they did it becuz of their seminar or they did becuz i told them that i may take accommodation from them and they dont have accommodation available before 16, so they wanted me to hold my landing till 16 wherease i need to land this week to join some company there.

whatever the reason is, but what they did was really shameless and pathetic, and hope they wont repeat this with other candidates.

may god help us all,,,

Man these guys are really shameless and unethical. I recommend you share your experience with the CHC so that they may take action against such crooks

I attended the CIIP session yesterday on 7th Feb and it was good. I met Vicky_delhi at the session. We have individual counselling scheduled for 9th Feb 2011 now

There was nothing new as far as session is concerned for people who have spent some time on forum, but for people who may not have spent lot of time on this forum it is a good way of getting all information under one roof in a very short period of time. Another advantage is that they share our information and profile with their focul point partners in canada and these agencies may help after landing.

CIIP is highly recommended by me to all fellow members

Thanks for sharing the thread Ankit. I will check and find out if they are doing something like this with my PP as well. Because I got a call that I shall attend the seminar by next month. But nothing I can do about it.

Hi, yes I have gone through with my medicals on 29-Dec-2010 and awaiting final results. If you or anyone have any idea about how much time will it take to get final hearing, that will be helpful. Thanks

No one can be sure on that. 
But it ranges from 50 to ~130+ days after submission when we see the tracker.

Jagdish, I will recommed you submit your time line to nsukan on this thread, this will help u track your case.

Since u did meds during last week of Dec, I think u have nothing to worry till mid march at least but keep ***** on their toes and if need be threatn them to remove them as your rep

Not really sure when is next session, but u can send e-mail to following address

Also you need to provide a proof of your med request or Visa, ur Resume and a Photograph. CHC generally sends a CIIP registeration form along with Medical request.

I have registered online last week but haven't received any response. When I called them today directly then they gave me the next session information and sent an email immediately.

Please be aware that CIIP is a completely free service offered through the support and funding of the Canadian Government.  The purpose is to help you find suitable employment in Canada, quicker, after your arrival.
 
I just want to give you a bit of an introduction to what CIIP offers.  It is delivered in two days: Day 1 (February15th): Overview of Canada, the current economic situation, overview of Canadian provinces and regions, understanding destination and occupation options, challenges facing immigrants in finding jobs, solutions to those problems, writing a Canadian resume, taking a Canadian interview.
 
Day 1 (February 15th) will start at 09.30 am and run until about 3:30 - 4:00 pm.
 
Day 2  (February 16th/ 17th): Personalized counseling which involves developing an action plan with a Canadian trained counsellor, referrals to Canadian agencies that assist immigrants and referrals to employers. Day two timings will be determined on February 15th whether it is on February 16th or on February 17th.
 
Please revert to confirm a seat as the reservations are on first come first serve basis.
 
When you attend the session, you should bring the following documents with you:
-A passport sized photo
 
-A copy of your Canadian visa OR a copy of the medical/security letter from the High Commission
 
-Your resume
 
-A note pad and pen
