guys......i am feeling bad in saying these bad words at this time of happiness.....i guess i have realized that i should face the reality and stop expecting the pp.....it would have come if it would have been in my destiny......saw the table clearing up sitting there.....took 5 months to realize...there is no point in chasing the shadows.....i would thank everyone.....for all the support n motivation.....god bless all....now not expecting....not waiting for the ECAS.....not waiting for the call from the consultant......wasted 1.5 years of my life n still counting....anyways...thanks everyone for the support

There is no way VO could refuse visa at this stage. But do keep yourself busy during this waiting period.

hi friends....
i just landed on 22nd march in toronto in noon.
there was heavy snowfall that day.
i was only asked how much money u brought in.
i was not asked anything else.
neither i was given any pamphlet etc or books.
at the last customs counter i was questioned a bit bout jwellery,
done with sin card and account opening.
ll start searching accomodation and job now.

Hay John,
Does that mean we have to carry all the money to there which we have kept in our bank to show at visa time?

Gav your case is really very unusual. However since your Passports have been held by NDVO for a long time, much outside their usual processing times, maybe you can do this:
If you can travel to New Delhi & visit the embassy between 11.00-12.00 Mon-Thursday, you can ask for seeking to meet a Visa Officer & get the clear picture on your case. You have a very valid reason to seek clarification from them.

Jassi PR card would be needed at time of re-entering. If some one (Like you) can collect the PR card and hand it over to them before landing  you are good. The risks are
If you send it via post and it get lost you are in trouble
If you do not get the PR cards because of some reason ( Photo not as per specification is most common reason) then you are in trouble again

How to get rid of trouble
Apply for PR Travel document (PRTD) from India and use that to Travel to Canada. Risk, PRTD is again issued to satisfaction of VO and can be denied also
Other way is land in US (if they have US visa) and travel through road to Canada using COPR, no PR card needed

How to avoid Trouble
Make them travle back to India after they get the PR cards. You can apply with urgency, showing return ticket as proof and citing some legitimate reason for return and you may get PR cards in a month

thanks man

Hi Gav,

Have tried sending case specific inquiry through email ? If yes, Did u receive any reply for that.....

I would also recommand try Yukon's suggestion. You have a very valid reason to visit them.

PRTD can be denied by the VO? It sounds too harsh. What happens if one loses one's PR card? One has to apply for PR all over again?

NO if PR is lost you have to reapply for PR card not PR all over again if you are in Canada
If you are outside of Canada, then you apply for PRTD. PRTD is issued based on staisfaction of VO.

The case that we are discussing here is though not lost PR but where PR does not get issued because of any reason like photos not to specs. IF PR card is lost in post then it is problem again, because PR card should not be sent via postal service

Not having a PR card for travel to Canada & losing one are 2 entirely different things.
Their is no such thing as denial of PRTD, unless you have been determined as inadmissible by virtue of some crime you committed in Canada or any other such misdemeanor deeming you inadmissible !!

See these FAQ's:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/pr-card/index.asp

Secondly for lost Card replacement their is a procedure:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-how.asp#replace

They do entertain walk-ins if you have a valid reason (people with pending case files outside processing times) to meet a Visa officer/coordinator. 11 am to 12 pm Monday to Thursday. Give it a try.....
