Hi Leoismyname,

I think there is no harm writing a letter/email to CHC and explaining your situations and lets hope that they look into your request......

btw, can you share valuable info as to how you got the job offer in Canada while being here in India...what was the source....job website/consultant/personal reference etc.....that will be really helpful to each of the aspirants...

guys can any body help me with the email addrsss to contact Canadian high comission in delhi for urgency in my paassport.

My story:-
I left my last company in october i got a job in london, got tier 1 visa stamped was very happy, thought that i can send my passport home from uk. my joining was in november,  however i also got medical n passport request for canadian pr, i did my medical and submitted my passport on 6th dec (delayed in passport submission becuz had exam on 5th where passport is like an i card).
So in December my UK employed got disspointed that i couldnt come and he given the position to some body else.
but i tried for job openings in canada, i got an offer from there also... thanks to god..
but now they are in urgency offer is good with one of the most respected investment bank there with 84 k as package, now they want to me to start by 1st feb and want me to travel by 25 becuz they need to do some formalities that i can only do when i will reach there.

if i wont land there by 25 or 26 than again they will revoke their offer and their HR (some very sweet punjabi lady) will curse me to the core, as i did insure (becuz i was in impression that stamping take maximum 1 month ) them that i would be able to travel by 25, and earlier they wanted somebody to join earlier however they waited for me.

NOW --> i am frustrated, as i cant do a job in india becuz thats not where i will be staying for long, and i have not recieved my PR yet but have job there, thats also in danger.

Kindly assist what should i do, i really want to start with some job early as i am getting terribly bored sitting at home,
should mail Canadian high commision in delhi to issue me PR earlier its already like 38 days since i submitted my passport.

Hi Guys,

I did email my query to them as guided by Thommo, i got a confirmation reciept from them stating that "you may get a reply in 28 days".

About jobs:-

I did posted my resume to monster.ca and workoplis.com, even indeed.ca was a tremendous help.

I feel the following things actually helped me to get a job there before getting PR:-

1.    I had already worked in Toronto for 4 months for TD Securities so i have some Canadian Exp, though i still not able to understand how can Canadian experience matter if a person has work experience of other countries like UK n Singapore. But they use Canadian exp term to give lesser salary initially.
2.    I have some international programming n investment banking certification like SCJP, SCEA,  OCP, FRM, CFA L2,  planing to complete PMP by next week, international certification really helps to showcase that you have at par or better qualified than average Canadian workforce.
these actually helped me to get my resume shortlisted, and given me the opportunity for an interview

3.   Last nd most important i feel job related skills are most important, becuz if a person is hands on than he will definitely get a job no doubt, i dont feel that its easy to get a managerial position right away there but if a person is hands on, he will definately get some sr associate or analyst or sr engineer level jobs.

i analysed that jobs are coming in plenty in Canada becuz most of the usa companies with headquarter in new York is actually exploring Toronto GTA area as a cost effective location plus its in same time zone, easy to commute, people with almost same communication n qualification skills but still GTA is way cheaper compare to new york city.

this is my evaluation from last 3 months, not necessary true.

The wait is finally over. Got call from CHC asking us to collect the stamped passports. They are considerate towards people desperately in need of their passports. I am much relieved that on my present job , i won't face any further problem.
We don't plan to land in Canada until at least May. On line status still reads 'In Process'.
Thank you very much, all forum members. Because of you all, almost three month wait was quite bearable.
As expected good news has started pouring in, in middle of January. I am sure all of you will get your visas very soon and CHC will try to clear the backlog.
