CIC/CHC New Delhi asks for proof of funds (3 months' bank statement):
1. At Application Stage
2. Upon Updating of documents

My Questions:

1. Do they ask for proof of funds at any other stage prior to issuance of PR Visa?
2. If you are actually required to carry the required funds upon landing in Canada, is there any such need for CHC to ask for the bank statement again?
3. Is there a need to maintain the required balance at all times (ie, 3 months statement)? Suppose one falls short at anytime during the 3-months' period, but then makes it up towards the end.

CIC/CHC New Delhi asks for proof of funds (3 months' bank statement):
1. At Application Stage not required at initial application
2. Upon Updating of documents while sending final application to CHC, ND

My Questions:

1. Do they ask for proof of funds at any other stage prior to issuance of PR Visa? they may ask for updated proof anytime till the issuance of visa
2. If you are actually required to carry the required funds upon landing in Canada, is there any such need for CHC to ask for the bank statement again? it's their process. we can't question them. They dont ask everyone. Only a few cases are asked to send updated statement
3. Is there a need to maintain the required balance at all times (ie, 3 months statement)? Suppose one falls short at anytime during the 3-months' period, but then makes it up towards the end. no idea on this. but, if you need that money in between, there's hardly you can do anything but arrange for the money whenever they send for an updated statement

fully in agreement with aanban. but in reply to ur 3rd qus. i beleive that u can use some money say 20-25 thousand out of the funds shown by you but the account must be a running account. the balance can be sometimes more and sometimes less than what u require. i have asked my consultant about it and he assured me that we can do this but he also advised me to keep the money for atleast six months as a precautionery measure.

Who told you for 3 months's bank statement. Has New Delhi CHC specially asked you for this. Kindly let me know your source since I am in process to send my papers to CHC New Delhi

Thanks you "aanban" and "sanjeevindia" for your replies.

Dear "rocky272727":
I read it from a thread by *shanbaba*. He quoted a letter he had recieved from CIC prior to issuance of visa, asking him to provide 3-months' statement. But that was pertaining to some other Visa Office, not New Delhi.

The letter I had recieved from CIC at the documents updating stage merely asked for a *proof of funds*; nothing about statements was mentioned. I, however, provided a 3 to 4 months' statement, in addition to some fixed deposits certificates.

CHCn ND is happy with 2 months statements. I've gathered this information from posts of successful candidates under the Fast Track.
