I am a PR of Canada and have been offered a job by a Canadian company to work abroad. It's very interesting and I want to take it however it's commission based. I have been a permanent resident for almost 2 years and a half now and I was wondering if I take that job if I will lose it?

Also since it's commission based and I take up another job there also will it change anything? And if it counts towards my residency obligations will I be able to apply for my Canadian Citizenship?

Call CIC and get it cleared that this will qualify for you to keep your PR.  I have heard that they are strict on what kind of company/employment qualifies.  If it doesn't qualify, you know you can not be outside Canada for more than 1095 days in any 5 year period if you want to keep your PR.

PR residency requirements and citizenship application requirements are not the same.  For PR, you can be excused for not living in Canada, for example if you are married to a citizen or you are working overseas for a Canadian company.  For citizenship, you need to be physically living in Canada.  Therefore, if you take this job and it's ok for you to keep your PR, you will still not be earning the right to apply for citizenship.
